Rehabilitation Pilates is an individually tailored, exercise-based rehabilitation programme run from our state-of-the-art Pilates Studio. It involves the use of cutting edge physiotherapy for injury rehabilitation, pain management and performance maximisation.
People with injuries need a higher level of care and attention and Emma is a rehabilitation specialist with experience treating all kinds of injuries along with postural and movement dysfunctions.
Rehabilitation Pilates draws on physiotherapy, physiology, pathology and the biomechanics of human movement. This is integrated with the latest research on injury management and sports specific rehabilitation. The result is a Pilates-based exercise treatment plan geared towards individual requirements.
Every client must undergo a thorough physiotherapy assessment to highlight specific postural and movement dysfunctions, muscle imbalances or any flexibility and stability issues that impede healing and performance.
A differential diagnosis then made and the client guided through a progressive, pathology-specific program on a one-to-one basis. Progress is closely monitored until healing is complete.
Rehabilitation Pilates is also beneficial where tight muscles or stiff joints are slow in responding to exercise. In cases like this, physiotherapy techniques such as massage and mobilisation can be integrated into the sessions to minimise recovery time.
Rehabilitation Pilates is indicated for:
• Back and neck pain
• Knee, shoulder and hip pain
• Sports injuries
• Pre and post operative spinal and peripheral rehabilitation
• Dance injuries
• Postural re-education
• Sport or work specific technique and biomechanical analysis and retraining
